Common Ground Fair

We are open for guests on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. Guests are welcome to spend one or both nights. Rustic cabins are available for families with children and groups of adults. Tenting space is also available. Please plan on sharing sleeping space with other fair goers. Bath house facilities offer hot showers and toilets. The fee includes overnight lodging, parking, and a continental breakfast. Please note that in 2024, Friends Camp will not be providing dinner. Use the green login/registration button at the top of the page to register for your stay. Registration opens August 1, 2024.

What to Bring:

Guests are responsible for bringing their own towels, toiletries, sleeping bag (or sheets), blanket, a pillow and flashlight. Please schedule your arrival at Friends Camp on your first night before 9 PM so that we can show you to your cabin. If you do arrive late, we will leave a camp map in the Big Bird dining hall with your name on it, and your cabin or tent space will be marked.

Food & Community Activities:

The breakfast buffet will be available from 7:30 am to 9:00 am. No dinner will be served at camp, so we suggest that guests enjoy the food at the Fair or at a local restaurant — we love Cushnoc pizza! There will be a designated refrigerator in the kitchen where guests can store food or leftovers, but there are no cooking facilities (campfire grates or grills) available.

Our guests are welcome to use our dining hall for playing cards and games. Guests both young and old are also welcome to spend time together in Cardinal Hall or Aviary Hall, and there will be a community campfire in the evening on Friday and Saturday.

Location:

We are near China Lake on Route 202 in South China, 19 miles from the fairgrounds. Friends Camp is located on Rt. 202 (729 Lakeview Drive), South China, Maine. From Exit 113 (Third Augusta exit) off I-95 follow Route 202 East for approximately 14 miles. Go straight through the traffic light in South China and then turn left onto Route 202 (Lakeview Drive). The camp is 3.5 miles on the right.

Please note that Friends Camp is a drug-, smoke-, and alcohol-free environment. We request that you leave your pets at home.
