Voluntary Tiered Pricing

Friends Camp has a voluntary, three-tiered pricing structure that lets you pick the price you will pay for camp. This is our way of making Friends Camp more affordable for as many families as possible. The “full” price tier is about the full cost of a child attending camp — including food, staffing requirements, insurance, property, materials, etc. Our basic and medium tier are lower prices, subsidized by annual fundraising, while help make camp more affordable for families who cannot afford the top tier. We also offer campership funds based on need, from $100 to full tuition. It is our goal to make camp as accessible as possible to campers and families who want to attend Friends Camp.

THIS TIERED PRICING SYSTEM IS VOLUNTARY AND IN NO WAY INFLUENCES ADMISSION OR THE EXPERIENCE YOUR CHILD WILL RECEIVE AT FRIENDS CAMP.

Deposits:

Deposit for a 2-Week Camp Session (per child): $300.00

Families applying for Campership Funds: $100.00

When registering campers, a tuition deposit of $300 is due per camper session ($150 for 1 week sessions).  For families applying for campership funds, the tuition deposit is $100 ($50 for 1 week sessions).  The deposit is refundable, less a $50 service fee, if requested no later than the end of the day April 1.

Full tuition for all camp sessions is due by the end of the day June 1. If full tuition is not received by that date (less any campership awarded), campers may lose their reserved places unless alternative arrangements have been made with the Camp Director in advance.

Camperships:

Click here for more information about full or partial camperships if your family cannot afford the cost of camp. We want you to be at camp!

Cancellations / Refunds:

Camper fees received in excess of the deposit can be refunded if a camper withdraws from a session, but the request must be made no later than thirty days in advance of the start of the session, except in exceptional circumstances as determined by the Camp Director.  If a camper withdraws or is sent home from camp after the beginning of the session for any reason, including homesickness, illness, injury, or dismissal, the tuition is not refundable.

Other Fees:

Friends Camp tuition includes all meals as well as laundry (for 2-week sessions, only). Our camp store Magpie is open only on opening and closing day of camp sessions, and merchandise prices range from $15- $45. There is no camp store open during camper sessions or any reason for campers to need spending money.

Hiking Adventure Trips:

Friends Camp offers special 1-overnight hiking and camping trips during teen sessions at additional cost, which you can sign up for through the registration portal.

Transportation to Camp:

Nearly all families will drive their campers or arrange carpooling to and from Friends Camp.

For 2022, Friends Camp is able to provide transportation to and from the Augusta Concord Coach Bus Station on the opening and closing days of some of our teen sessions- Rising Leaders, Rustin, and Fell.  The address for the bus station is Transportation Ctr, 9 Industrial Dr, Augusta, ME 04330. Please coordinate your travel plans with the camp office as soon as possible. We charge $25 per camper to transport campers to or from the bus station.
