When does registration open? Do I need to register right away?
Registration will open at 12 pm Eastern time on Saturday, November 6th. Last year we had opened registration with very limited space in our sessions and some filled quickly (the same day). This year we are opening many more spaces, but if you are sure you want your children to attend camp then it is a good idea to register as soon as you are able. When you are ready to register, you will visit www.friendscamp.org and sign up through our Camp Brain portal. As soon as you start a camper application, it will hold your “spot” for 30 minutes so there is no need to rush through the application at any time.
Can campers register for more than one session?
Yes! If they are of the appropriate age, campers may register for more than one session in 2022.
If campers are registered for more than one session, can they stay over at camp the weekend in between sessions?
We are offering a stay-over at camp weekend between Rustin and Fell sessions, for teens who wish to stay at camp for a full month. The additional cost for the stayover weekend from Friday- Sunday is $200. Campers attending multiple sessions including Jones or Mott will need to be picked up during the break from camp.
Will campers be wearing masks in 2022? What Covid-19 protocols will be in place?
We wish we could predict what the state of the pandemic would be in June, July, and August! Based on our experience at camp last summer, we are ready if the pandemic is causing high transmission of Covid-19 in our communities. We hope that the pandemic situation will allow easing of requirements including testing, cohorting, and masking. Our priority is to offer safe, uninterrupted, and joyful camp sessions for all without causing risk to our campers, staff, and wider communities.
Is there a deposit due at registration?
Yes, $300 per camper is due at registration. If you need to apply for campership funds, the deposit amount is $50 per camper and we can help if you need assistance. The deposit is refundable before April 1 less a $50 service fee (waived for families applying for campership).
Will the Covid-19 vaccine be required for campers in 2022?
We hope that the vast majority of our campers in 2022 will be vaccinated against Covid-19. In 2021, 100% of our staff and over 90% of our teenage campers were vaccinated. Right now, being vaccinated against Covid-19 is not a requirement to attend Friends Camp, although campers who are not vaccinated may be required to undergo extra testing or quarantine.
How many one-week spaces are available during Jones Session?
We are capping our one-week session options at 4-5 cabins each week during Jones Session.
When do sessions start and end?
For 2022, all sessions will begin on a Sunday (drop off between 2pm- 3:30 pm). All sessions will end on a Friday with pick-up between 10 am and noon.
Why are sessions ending on Friday instead of Saturday?
We are proud of our responsible, well-trained, creative, caring, and well-supported staff members. Finding and retaining good staff is a major challenge for many businesses and organizations right now, including summer camps. We were fully staffed in 2021 and are committed to being fully staffed with excellent camp counselors in future years as well. One piece of this commitment is to offer appropriate time off, including breaks between sessions. We are choosing to end our four camp sessions on Fridays instead of Saturdays in order to allow camp staff members a chance to rest, recharge, call their families, sleep in, and prepare for the upcoming camp session. We are grateful for our camp families’ understanding about this important change.

How does a camper become a Rising Leader?
